Sam Manning is a cinema historian and author living in Belfast, Northern Ireland. After completing a PhD at Queen's University Belfast exploring post-war cinema audiences in the United Kingdom, he worked on several university projects exploring the history of cinema attendance across Europe. He is the author of 

Cinemas and Cinema-Going in the United Kingdom: Decades of Decline, 1945–65, and has written widely on cinema in Northern Ireland.
